We’re looking for a creative and strategic Social Media Manager to join the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF). Sitting within CAF’s central Marketing team, you’ll take the lead in building and managing the social media presence for our charity financial services, with a primary focus on CAF Bank.
In this role, you’ll shape CAF Bank’s channels from the ground up - connecting with charities and social enterprises, growing an engaged online community, and showcasing the vital role our financial services play in helping the sector thrive. You’ll also collaborate with colleagues across CAF to help highlight the full breadth of support we offer to charities and amplify the visibility of our impact.
What you’ll do
- Develop and deliver a compelling social media strategy aligned with CAF’s mission and business goals.
- Plan, create and manage engaging content across platforms (primarily LinkedIn and Facebook).
- Highlight the inspiring work of our charity clients through thoughtful and creative storytelling.
- Build and foster an engaged online community, responding to comments and enquiries in collaboration with CAF Bank’s Customer Service team.
- Collaborate with marketing, external affairs, and partners to strengthen brand visibility and thought leadership.
- Monitor trends and analytics, sharing insights to optimise performance.
- Ensure all content meets accessibility, brand, and FCA requirements.
- Anticipate reputational risks and contribute to crisis communications if needed (including occasional out-of-hours support).
- Create engaging visual content using tools such as Canva, with design support where appropriate.
- Identify and collaborate with influencers and sector organisations to extend reach and engagement.
- Support and advise senior leaders and colleagues to strengthen their own presence as brand advocates.
Who you’ll be
- An experienced social media professional with a track record of building channels and communities, preferably in financial services, charities, or another regulated sector.
- A confident storyteller with excellent copywriting and content creation skills, able to make complex topics accessible and engaging.
- Skilled in using social media tools and analytics to measure performance and shape strategy.
- Comfortable handling sensitive issues, reputational risks, and crisis communications.
- Collaborative and proactive, able to work across teams and manage multiple projects at pace.
- Passionate about social impact, aligned with CAF’s mission to accelerate progress for charities, donors, and purpose-driven organisations.
What’s in it for you
At CAF you will receive:
- Permanent hybrid ways of working where roles allow
- Six weeks holiday plus bank holidays
- A wide range of development opportunities to support personal and professional growth
- Pension scheme with better-than-market employer contribution options
- Social impact benefit schemes
