We're looking for an enthusiastic Finance Operations Officer Apprentice to join our Finance Team at Charities Aid Foundation (CAF).
What you’ll do
At CAF, every one of us contributes to our impact, and as our Finance Operations Officer Apprentice you too will play an integral part in what we do.
This is a great chance to kick-start your career in finance while working towards a Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship. You'll gain hands-on experience in a busy finance environment, learn from experienced professionals, and develop the skills and confidence to grow in your career. Working as part of the Finance Team, your role will involve working to the Anti Money Laundering Regulations to process donations and Gift Aid claims, working accurately and in line with timelines and compliance protocols.
As our Finance Operations Officer Apprentice you will:
- Apply receipts to donors' accounts in an accurate and timely manner
- Monitor receipts in line with rules and regulations and identify potential risks for further investigation
- Monitor transactions and resolve anomalies
- Prepare and submit Gift Aid claims to HMRC, checking that they are accurate and up to date
- Reconcile and process Gift Aid receipts from HMRC
- Respond to queries from internal and external stakeholders
- Carry out filing and scanning accurately and in a timely manner, in line with GDPR regulations
- Contribute to improving practices within the team
- Maintain up to date information and awareness of policies and procedures

We are looking for:

- Analytical and logical thinking abilities
- GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 4 or higher) essential
- GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade 5 or higher) essential
Desired qualifications:
A Level or equivalent in Maths or other finance-related subject (Grade C)
Eligibility Criteria for an Apprenticeship in England
- You must live in England and have the right to work in the UK
- You must have been ordinarily resident in the UK for at least the past three years before starting the apprenticeship
- You must not already hold an equivalent or higher qualification in the same subject area
Apprenticeship duration: Approximately 18 months, or sooner should the apprenticeship be finalised before the 18-month duration.
Working hours: 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 9am to 5pm
Start date: 5 January 2026
